Prayer
Network
Dear
Friends of Cross Roads Community
Over
the past three years we have had over three thousand people
come to us in need of prayer. The Mass, Rosary, Exposition,
Divine Office, etc. that I do each day is always offered for
these people. Their needs are generally desperate. They include
young people in jail, children in hospital, victims of physical,
emotional and sexual abuse and the general chaos caused to
parents and other siblings as a result of addiction. The need
for spiritual help is paramount and each day the need intensifies
for a more spiritual response.
Hence,
the reason I am writing this letter is to ask for spiritual
support by way of prayer, without which Cross Roads Community
would be ineffective. I value your friendship and prayerful
support. It is my desire to initiate a large scaled prayer
network within our Archdiocese and we can be proud of this
fact.
What
I ask is that each person pledge one hour per week in prayer
for this cause. Whether that is 15 minutes 4 times a week,
30 minutes twice a week or whatever suits your prayer schedule.
It
is my intention every few days that Cross Roads Community
will send via conventional mail or email to you first names
of all people coming to us needing your prayers. It is suggested
that you place these names in your prayer corner and pray
for them for three months. It is not necessary to read these
names every time you pray, but simply during prayer the first
time you receive them.
Please
spread the word, we need as many people praying as possible.
If someone does not have email, please ring us at Cross Roads
Community as we will also be starting a prayer phone network.
God
Bless and may Jesus and Mary protect you.

Prayer
for the Addicted
Lord
Jesus Christ, you came for the sick, not the healthy.
Many of my brothers and sisters have fallen to addiction and
are sick and lonely. Hear my cry that just as you released
Peter and Paul from the bondage of their jail 2000 years ago,
so too today you will release the addicted from their bondage.
We pray that you give them freedom to allow them to live in
the dignity of your freedom.
Amen.
