Father Paul

Alcohol, drugs and gambling abuse causes terrible harm to the individual, the family and to society.

Before becoming a priest I was a professional diver and fisherman for fourteen years on the West Coast of Australia.  As well as having lived a good life, I also fell victim to drugs and alcohol.

The mission of Cross Roads is to help substance abusers to find freedom through an holistic approach. The objective of which is to assist our clients to build  mechanisms which empower them to live good and balanced lives: exercising the body, mind and soul in a productive and healthy manner.

Once I was bound, now I am free!

God bless,  Fr. Paul Baczynski

Mission Statement

Healing, forgiveness and a new beginning are essential to the philosophy of Cross Roads Community.

The wounded human person, suffering amidst the darkness and emotional injury of addiction, needs the healing power and love of God for strength,  serenity and steadfastness in the hope of a new life.

True healing comes from God the Creator. His supernatural grace, working directly and through human resources, enables the addicted person to break away from bad habits, step out in faith to establish a new beginning and gain self-esteem and self-mastery.

God’s healing power, however, will only set free from addiction those who are sincere in acknowledging their weakness and who desire to grow as well as accept personal responsibility.

Cross Roads Community, therefore, aims to supply a comprehensive program that focuses on the body, mind and spiritual soul of each individual,  to enable the person to live in the true dignity of a human being created in the image and likeness of God.

Cross Roads Community is located in East Fremantle, where contacts can be made and Church resources are gathered and administered. Our aim is also to establish a retreat farm on the periphery of the city of Perth, Western Australia.  The retreat farm will focus on spiritual and human development brought about through, seminars, work-shops and general retreats.

Seven Steps

1. Acceptance

2. Separation

3. Body
I will undertake a balanced diet and exercise program.
4. Mind
I will gain education:  academic, vocation, or  hobby.
5 Soul
I will integrate the teachings of Jesus Christ into my daily life.
6 Work I will gain employment and be productive with my money.
7 Life
I will live a disciplined and humble lifestyle, desiring only what I need in life.  Using my talents for goodness, while practicing forgiveness and personal growth.  I will search for that which leads to peace and joy.
